Telephone and Visitation Services

Administrator log in   "I live in the next town, work full time, and still have one child living at home. I see Mom as much as I can, but it eases my mind to know she also has a "Friendly Visitor" checking in on her too. They’re trained to notice problems and can alert us if something doesn’t seem right."

Especially helpful if you if you live far away or are the only family member close by, visitation services provide daily contact and assurance for both the patient and family caregivers. Most of these services are provided by volunteers who are trained to spot problems common to elderly people who live on their own.

Telecare services offer a call each day to an elderly person to make sure the person is ok, seven days a week. The Nebraska Senior Companion Program matches older volunteers with other older individuals who need assistance to maintain their independent lifestyle.
