Most of these services are provided by volunteers who are trained to spot problems common to elderly people who live on their own.

Telecare services offer a call each day to an elderly person to make sure the person is ok, seven days a week. The Nebraska Senior Companion Program matches older volunteers with other older individuals who need assistance to maintain their independent lifestyle.
