Much as you may want to provide all the care, day-in day-out caregiving of a seriously ill individual can be exhausting. It can also affect your own physical and mental well being. Taking a few days off now and then is important. It allows you to recharge your batteries, giving you renewed energy to continue on, even in the face of sad or overwhelming circumstances. The listings below include facilities that offer respite care of one to three days.
If you are seeking care that is not based in a facility, see In-Home Care Providers. For daytime only care (no evenings, nights or weekends) that is provided in a facility, see Adult Day Centers. For more information about other types of care available, see our article about Getting Help.
